acnp77 61
I love mb. But you need to get your basics right before anything else. I accessed my movies library with an ios safari browser. Once I used the external address with https- and once I used the internel address over http. Have a look at the 2 screens: What's happening here? Cheers Edited November 10, 2016 by acnp77

Solution Luke 37262 Posted November 10, 2016 Solution Share Posted November 10, 2016 What version of iOS? the issue is actually incorrect movie posters. iOS has very strict memory limits, and once those limits are exceeded then this type of strange side effect will occur. To resolve this for Safari, we would need to redesign layouts that space out the images more with fewer on-screen at the same time. Unfortunately we just have not been able to make time for Safari-specific development and that's why this issue remains. The solution is to use the native iOS Emby app which does not have this problem. Also, in my testing with newer iOS devices, I am not seeing this quite as much anymore, and in fact, have yet to see it at all on iOS 10.
acnp77 61
@@Luke IOS: 9.3.2 (Will upgrade asap) Thanks a lot for this information. Much appreciated. I got the IPad to display correctly (also 9.x.x) But my IPhone (9.3.2) behaves very strangely. I restarted it, cleared all Safari-data and connected to mb (locally, http). I got this: Even when posters are not displayed properly the total movie-count is correct and all movies are accessible through "search" Edited November 10, 2016 by acnp77
acnp77 61
@@Luke I must apologize, most issues with my iphone were on my end. After cleaning out ALL ios afari data (under advanced settings) it's all good. The only issue- which you already have explained to me- is that on the iphone the poster are somtimes "screwed up". Simple solution: I use "List"-View not poster-view. This seems to use less memory and shows all my items correctly. Cheers
Luke 37262
Not a problem, thank you. Let me know if you see any differences after updating to ios 19.

Luke 37262
Unfortunately it is random so a few minutes of success doesn't guarantee you won't see it again, however in iOS10, either Apple has relaxed the requirements or the performance of the Safari engine has improved to a point where it no longer occurs. acnp77 61
Thanks for the infos Luke. Yes, I know what I did was no "proper testing", but it seems to be ok now (at least on my devices). (There are possiblities to use more ios-storage, also for web-apps. I am running a "open xchange app suite" and when I connect with ios safari it can request to increase the local database size.) Please kepp in mind: The app is a good solution for many, but not for all of us. I would never use the app- just because it comes from the app-store, and I can not be certain that there are no online-components. When I want to watch my own media I connect to my server. And nothing else. Sorry for emphasizing this- but it is the only approach that makes sense to me. And I am sure there are others sharing this oppinion too... And it's not only the posters- the whole CSS and page-lodading seems very difficult on ios - My problem starts when I want to give other family-members access. Seems the ios client does needs up-to-date safari and ios version to function correctly. I tried to access mb with my fathers "ipad air" running ios 8.x.x. The whole gui was distorted, no "playback" buttons, etc... I think I will need to switch to android clients. Seems much easier... Cheers
acnp77 61
This will be my last post on this subject- I understand we can not discuss this endlessly in this forum. (Maybe someone could change the title of this topic, as it went in a different direction than expected)But I am really disappionted- I will go as far to say that you can not properly listen to music with any ios device (at least at the moment). I tried with ipad air, ipad air2, iphone 4,5,6,SE and Ios 8, 9 and 10. I tried safari and ios app.And there is no way to listen to more than one song a the time. Plackback stops when device goes to lockscreen. EDIT: I updated the server to last version. - The issue remains.
