Huberer 0
Hello, since a couple of months I'm using Emby on my homeserver (with Openmediavault v2 - always latest updates - see sig.). First I've added my videos and series and I've to confess that I really love Emby (therefore I wait for the next special/christmas offer to buy a premium account). Videos and series are not enough therefore I've started to add my music into Emby Server (at the moment I use the latest stable version - 3.0.8500). I've read the wiki about the correct folder naming and with mp3tag in accordance with musicbrainz I tagged the music (again because before I did it with MediaMonkey). First I've added my ABBA and AC/DC albums (around 40 albums) and only one wasn't found by Emby. Therefore I had to correct the metadata by hand (in Emby). The next step was to add two interprets who sing in german and from around 30 albums only 4 were recognized. I've tagged all these albums with mp3tag (and one also with Musicbrainz Picard) and in musicbrainz there are infos for them. I made several tests with emby but nothing didn't work. Therefore I've deleted the whole library and made a new one only for posting here and to show how it looks like This is how the naming looks like: This is how I added the music library (it doesn't matter if I activate to download pictures and meta data from the internet - the result is always the same) After scan it looks like this: This is how it looks lnside the album: No album interprets and no genre recognized (but inside ID3 - see musicbrainz picard screen shot) I've added the musicbrainz album id to the "edit info" but it didn't work. This is the album id of the album "Da komm' ich her" from the Austrian Singer Andreas Gablier When I click on the sign which is on the end of the line of the album id (the small square with the arrow up inside) the musicbrainz side opens and shows the info I've also attached the server log and I see a lot of errors with ffprobe (I don't know why it is like that and if it has something to do with the scanning of the library). As I've mentioned before. The albums of ABBA/AC'DC are almost 100% recognized but only a view of the german/austrian singer (I would say around 20%). I've also started to add the necessary info into the info folder of each song (correct naming of the songs, add interprets, add name of album, genre, cover, year of release) this is quite a horrible job. I also want to add that I also use Plex Media Server (latest Plex Pass) and Plex recognized from the first test almost every album. But I want to stay with Emby because I really love Emby (in accordance with Kodi as Player). I know it's a long thread but I hope someone can help me how to solve this issue. Thanks in advance Huberer Edit: This is how it looks under reports: When I manually add the missing infos there are still no infos under "HeaderAlbumArtist" like you can see in the album section under the name of the single albums) - like you can see above under "74'jailbreak" there is AC/DC but not under the album "Bittersüß" (even when I fill out all the missing tags) Edit no.2: Now I found a thread here where is mentioned the error of ffprobe but no answer server-63614195009.txt Edited November 8, 2016 by Huberer
Huberer 0
Now I want to give an update to the above mentioned problem. I checked the recognized songs and the unrecognized. All the recognized have .m4a (apple lossless) as extension and the unrecognized have .mp3 as ending. So I converted two albums of the above mentioned german singer Westernhagen from .mp3 to .m4a and made a new music library....voila these albums were detected in Emby with musicbrainz. That means I've to convert all of my .mp3 albums into another music format (in my case apple lossless) that Emby can recognize the metadata of these albums. So what could be the reason for that? Luke 37262
Hi, welcome. Thanks for the report! You don't need to convert your files. Is it possible for you to zip up a few of those files and provide me with them so that I can test them myself? Thanks !

Huberer 0
So, coming back to the above posted error. When I don't add an album there's no error message in the log. So I added another .mp3-album of the german singer I mentioned in the first thread I got this error message: 2016-11-10 21:43:59.5746 Info MediaEncoder: Killing ffmpeg process 2016-11-10 21:43:59.5750 Error App: Error in ffprobe *** Error Report *** Version: 3.0.8500.0 Command line: /opt/emby/MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe -programdata /media/aac75702-c08f-4587-a08b-9fc72e60c614/emby -restartpath /usr/sbin/emby.sh Operating system: Unix 3.16.0.0 Processor count: 4 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: True Program data path: /media/aac75702-c08f-4587-a08b-9fc72e60c614/emby Mono: 4.6.1 (Stable 4.6.1.5/ef43c15 Wed Oct 12 09:10:37 UTC 2016) Application Path: /opt/emby/MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe ffprobe failed - streams and format are both null. Huberer 0
Thanks for the feedback. Just one question: Which next release do you mean? Stable, beta or pre-release? Huberer 0
Today I've installed the latest beta (v.3.1.225) and the issue still remains: Ok, the names of the songs are correct recognized but not the artist. I doesn't show up so the album is not under the "album artists". And also have a look here: Emby does't recognize AC/DC. Just to be informed. I've tagged all my music with mp3tag/musicbrainz. Interesting inside the album (AC/DC - Back in black) it looks like this: And also an issue here: Edited November 17, 2016 by Huberer
Luke 37262
Try with brand new content, it will not necessarily repair existing content.
Huberer 0
Sorry, while you've posted I edited my post with new images. I've deleted the music library and made it knew. This is the result with the new library Now everything is screwed up. While I've edited my post you wrote a new one. I saved everything but can't open the attached images again (bug in forum software?). Do they open when you have a look at them? Huberer 0
Here are the images again: Especially the last album I've edited with mp3tag only by hand. Luke 37262
What is the issue exactly?
Huberer 0
Can't you see on the images: Like AC/DC shows up under albums only as "AC" (inside the album folder it's AC / DC). And this is how it looks like under album-artists: and there's no Bruce Springsteen under album artists (only with his E-street-band) with the album "The Album Collection, Vol. 1" which, I wrote one post before, I tagged with mp3tag by hand. this is how the folder structure looks like: and a screen shot from mp3tag: Now I see that the naming of the album in the folder structure was wrong but it didn't work the change. Still unknown album. Edited November 17, 2016 by Huberer
Luke 37262
See if a library scan gets Bruce Springsteen to show up. If not can you zip up one sample song, also, can you do the same for ac/dc? thanks.

Luke 37262
I found the issue with AC/DC and I've resolved that for the next release. The other two albums worked perfectly for me. I can give you something to try but you need a fresh new installation of Emby Server from the beta channel. If you can do that let me know and I'll give you instructions. Thanks. Huberer 0
Thanks for the info. Good to hear that you could solve the problem. Next week I will get a used PC as a test server for OMV3. Than I will make a brand new installation of everything and also with Emby. Than I test everything again und let you know. Thanks again
Huberer 0
@@Luke Now I got my TestServer (Dell Optiplex 960 with C2D E8500@3,16 GHz, 4GB Ram, 1x2,5" SSHD Seagate with OMV3 and always latest beta Emby-Server) and have installed emby server 3.1.239-beta-1727.1 (today via OMV Update-Manager - I read that there's a 1727.2 version available but couldn't find it). I've added all my music to the library and all issues I had are gone. At the beginning I had some with all my AC/DC albums and after deleting and re-adding them everything was ok. thank you for your help and fixing the issues. Huberer Edit: after some testings there's still an issue I found. E.g. my AC/DC albums. I've around 30 of them. When I click on album interprets it looks like this: everything is ok, but when I click on the "more" button which is besides "album" (on the screen it's "Alben" and "Mehr") I get a black screen: This black screen I have with all of my album interprets where I can see the "more" buttons besides "Albums" What's wrong here?
