Fast Forward on XBOX 360 Remote

Is there a way to get the fast forward/reverse buttons on a XBOX 360 remote to work when using MB? And why is it when hitting the skip button several times in a row does it just skip to the end of a movie??

I have answered my own question. This is not a limitation of MB, it is a limitation of Windows. To enable this functionality, follow the instructions here:
