Ian-Highlander 145
Just upgraded to 3.0.8000.0 and suddenly my home page "My Media" icons at the top of the screen are using the "primary" image instead of previously using the "thumb". Is this deliberate? Can it be put back please or at least give us the choice (or am I missing the option somewhere?). Thanks Before: After: Edited October 13, 2016 by Ian-Highlander
Happy2Play 8281
I still see thumb/landscape presentation. I wonder if this another "region" mixup. Edited October 13, 2016 by Happy2Play
Ian-Highlander 145
Definitely isn't on mine, I've tried multiple browsers from three different machines as different users. I have the portrait images set as "primary" and landscape set as "thumb" and always have primarily because that's how WMC uses them. Nothing changed other than I updated to the latest release yesterday at which point it changed from using the thumb by default to primary. I can live with it, because I rarely use the web interface but it will niggle a bit when I do if this is a deliberate change. Strange that you're not seeing it though, perhaps @@ebr or @@Luke could confirm one way or the other please?
PenkethBoy 2063
do you have both landscape and portrait images associated with you library metadata? i dont see it either like Happy but i only have a landscape primary and one backdrop also landscape? Ian-Highlander 145
I have both set on all libraries, because EMC looks WAYYY better with portrait images than thumb images for the categories and the web app looks better with thumb rather than portrait and up until this last update they both just used the appropriate (to my mind) one automatically. No doubt if I remove the "primary" portrait ones the webapp would then display the thumbs again but I care more about what EMC looks like than the webapp. Just curious as to why it's changed after all this time. PenkethBoy 2063
WMC rather than EMC i guess?
Ian-Highlander 145
WMC rather than EMC i guess? EMC Emby for Media Center as it's not WMC itself but Emby within WMC that we're talking about. Edited October 14, 2016 by Ian-Highlander
Luke 37062
What's happening is historically the server has auto-generated both primary and thumb collages. But users who want to customize their own images just click on the first option available, which means they end up customizing thumb, then wondering why some apps are using it and some are not. For the top level libraries we have always advised 16 * 9 so in order to simplfy this, I updated the server to stop generated the thumb version, since it was a duplicate anyway, and then i updated the UI to stop checking for a thumb. Ian-Highlander 145
At least that answers the question, I guess my situation is less common these days using custom images and EMC as a client. It's a shame though as the portrait images look massively better on EMC as the the area for them (in chocolate at least) is more sized for a portrait image than a landscape one. But the web app just looks empty using portrait images. Doesn't massively affect me as I say as I rarely use the web app anyway for much and EMC still looks fine thankfully, does seem a little bit of a strange decision though as it's removed some of the flexibility of it. Still, it's your product, you can do with it as you will, thanks for the answer and clearing up that I wasn't going insane.

AndyXH 70
I just leave the default metadate before a scan is run and then shows the below. Once I hit delete I get the default icons
Happy2Play 8281
@andreaxheli Sorry no there is no way to maintain default images/disable dynamic images. You would have to add your own custom images. But there are other options in that section of the forum.
