When for example a movie does not have a "thumb" the first backdrop appears to be used and does not have the frame you may have chosen to go around it

Is it a setting i missed?

Emby does not call cover art to apply the frame because no thumb file exists?

?

Thanks

You aren't missing anything, CA will not treat backdrops, only poster.ext/folder.ext and thumb.ext/landscape.ext.  Because those are the expected images in those views.

ok fine not a major issue just trying to understand

hmm interesting that the plugin looks for the files itself

Yea we don't currently tell cover art what the context is, so it doesn't know that the backdrop is being used in place of a thumb.

Ideally I suppose we would do that, although the cost of processing really large backdrop images would be painful.

i would vote for leave as is

its easy enough to create or find a image to make the thumb - as i only have few - was checking to see whats what

Just a thought if you did have a large number of missing thumbs etc - could the coverart be run as a scheduled task to pick up those changes - sort of a once a month thing?

Might help on low power servers?

What you really want is something that would automatically generate missing thumbs for you.  A while back I think (maybe @chef) was trying to create just such a plug-in.

Yes thats an option as well - if its cpu/memory intensive processes that is the concern then some sort of batch/schedule run should cover that
