Chromecast or Roku stick ?

I've recently installed emby and I'm really happy about it.

The next step is to watch the videos of my computer on my TV. And I'll buy a stick to do it.

But which one : Chromecast or Roku stick ?

 

Something important to me is to be able to browse my contents on my TV.

In order to allow everyone in the family to see the catalog and pick the movie together.

 

Is it possible with Chromecast ? Or should someone pick the movie on the smartphone, and then cast it on the TV ?

And with Roku ?

I have both Chromecast and Roku Stick.

 

Both are great solutions, but if you want to browse and select content on your TV, then you definitely want a Roku Stick. You have an easy to use remote included and all of the family can gather around and browse Emby catalog on TV. With Chromecast, your browsing would have to be done on a phone, tablet or PC and then Cast to Chromecast on your TV.
