Unable to login to emby on Fire TV

First issue: my family members whom show up just fine on the web client, are not showing up on the Fire TV emby app. "Hide this user from login screens" is unchecked.

Second issue: attempts to login to my family member accounts manually, fails with "Invalid username or password" yet the same username/password works fine in web client. My main account can log into the Fire TV emby app with no problem.

Rebooted Fire TV, same error. I used the "Send logs" to developers so I hope this can be resolved.

Amazon Fire TV emby app version 1.2.24a

Emby-Server version 3.0.6060.0

Thanks

Have you restricted device access for those other users?

Oh jeez... I'm a fool. Yes I had them restricted. Thanks ebr.

Just a side note, I'm receiving an error "VolleyError com.android.volley.AuthFailureError:" when attempting to login to emby on the Fire TV if inside of Amazon's "FreeTime".

I'm assuming this is due to restrictions in the FreeTime profile since I can login with the same user with no issues, outside of FreeTime.

from that screen are you logging or trying to open the app with a saved login?

That was after successful login to emby app inside of Fire TV FreeTime. However, now I'm no longer seeing the user and when attempting to manually log in, I receive the "Invalid User ID or Password" error again.

The emby app works fine if I'm not in FreeTime.

Exactly what restrictions are being applied by FreeTime?  Is it limiting access to specific sites?  Does it possibly create a different device such that we're back where we started and you need to grant access?

Oh man! Yep, it created another device I had to allow. Working perfectly again, no errors inside FreeTime. Thanks for the help.

Hello there

I have the same error happening lately

I was using it on my Amazon FireTV last week. I used it successfully with https cert from letsencrypt. It was working without any problems and is still working on iOS.

On my FireTV https stopped working. "error connecting to server"

So i went back to http, the connection works.. but login... no reaction, pin login - no reaction.

I can type username/password as often as i want, just nothing happens.

And I see same message as in post #4 frequently

And FireTv app is missing the "remeber me" checkbox ?

Have you checked the solution in here?  Although, it sounds like maybe you have a different issue related to ssl authentication.

This is in the settings for the app.  The first option is how to behave on login.  You can configure a default user or to show the login screen.  You can also set it up to have a default user but still prompt for the password.  This is a little different due to the app being used mostly on a shared device (e.g. TV in a living room).

Nightreaver

I've red the old topic with firetv and ssl and was able to fix the problem with a valid certificate. Haven't changed anythin since then.

I used the same account last week as I did this week. https broke for no reason (still using the same valid zertificate), HTTP from the app doesn't login at all.

I haven't setup any restriction nonsense. I also tried the login with "pin" but this also ends in the 'server selection' with manual login option.

Iphone, webbrower ect are working fine.

So for me, I'd say no solution worked yet

Cheers

Hi, our hosting provider has had some issues this weekend and this has impacted Emby Connect. I would try it all again. Thanks.

If it doesn't clear up, please create a new topic with particulars so we can figure it out sine this was a specific situation that was solved. Thanks.
