"Home videos" - folders with multiple videos inside them

I have a collection of Home Videos in my MB3 library. Inside the "collection folder" there are just a bunch of folders with videos inside them, like HomeVids\VegasTrip\*.mp4 for example. Obviously no metadata.

Now in MB3 Classic in 7MC, every single folder shows a thumbnail on it and only lets me play that one video whatever it might be. Can't "enter" the folder because for some silly reason it thinks it's just one video.

If I go into the meta data editor on the dashboard it shows "Folder" as the type, but the "path" is that of one of the videos inside that folder, not the folder itself.

What gives?

Doesn't matter what theme I use, I've rescanned my library dozens of times, removed and re-added the folder, collection, and I've even tried reinstalling MB3server. Using UNC paths.

Just a thought, have you tried upping your breadcrumb count in mbc config?

Its a stab in the dark but might work.

I think I've found the issue here. I've mentioned in the past that I use a special "god mode" Windows 7 feature to protect certain folders on my drive.

Basically, you just make a folder on your drive, put your stuff inside it, then add .{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} to the end of the folder, e.g.:

D:\FileSystem.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}\

Once you do, the folder will basically become a "god mode" Control Panel extension when you open it, like so:

However, all your files will still be inside it, unaffected... Just inaccessible (In Windows Explorer). When you want to open the folder and see your files again, you just use a command prompt to rename the folder back.

It's noteworthy that nothing but Windows Explorer is affected by this. The folder still contains your stuff and is treated like any other folder to any other program:

However, Media Browser 3's server obviously uses its own detection and stores the file list in its own database, so if it's detecting them incorrectly (for reasons I obviously can't tell you - you guys are the developers lol)... Well, apparently this is what's currently happening:

Observe the difference in the detected file paths between when it contains .{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} and when it does not:

Notice specifically in mb3_11.png that the folder is detected and stored as one (and only one) of the files it contains. "Flyers Games" is a folder containing several videos, but the Path is reported as "Flyers Games\2014 - Copy (2).avi".

Should be somewhat easier to narrow it down from here.
