Is there a way to directly tune to a channel? Right now you have to use the guide to select the channel, is there going to be an option to go directly to a channel number?

I think he means, instead of using the guide at all, just press in 702 and go directly to watching the channel

In what emby app?

Not at this point.  Maybe in the future but two points:

1) Channel numbers are becoming a thing of the past and

2) With the Fire TV specifically (which you tagged) there are no number buttons on the remote.

Here's a thought. Could it be possible to have the option to make a 'speed dial' of sorts, for the channels we watch most? A customizable section in Live TV, that will take us directly to watching the channel? Maybe something like the Now Playing section, but we can choose which channels they are? A 'Favorites' section, perhaps?

well, the frequency of watching any particular channel is a big part of the ordering in now playing, so hopefully that should be pretty sufficient.

Right. But it doesn't say which channel, and doesn't take us directly to watching. Here's an example. If a person always watches the news on a certain channel at certain time, they have to go through the guide and details page, to get there. If we were able to have a favorites section, we could go directly to watching. The guide and details page, would not be needed.

Again, in the Fire TV app specifically, it sorts the guide by last played by default (you can turn this off in the settings).  So, if someone watches a few channels all the time, they will already be right at the top of the guide.
