jscheeren 16
Latest version of Theatre works great but if the WAN is disconnected a full screen image when I load Theatre pops up from my ASUS router that does not allow me to do anything but cntl alt delete. I am really looking forward to an android version...... Thanks a lot for any replies Jan

Mopar_Mudder 14
This is kind of a big deal. My internet was down for 5 days I could not watch a movie! Theater and Server are on the same PC, why is the internet needed?

JMGNYC 10
My lovely ISP (TWC) had an outage so I couldn't watch what I wanted to stream but I said, "Hey, no problem I've got stuff on Emby." Sadly not though without an internet connection on either Apple TV or HTPC so I ended up having to use VLC and the file system. Not the end of the world but kind of annoying when already stressed about an internet outage. Just to comment so you have an anecdote when prioritizing things. The web client works if there is no internet/WAN access. At least it used to. Not as practical but could be a workaround.

Vidman 589
Fairly sure the apple tv should still work without internet connectivity and your server is on the same LAN Edited July 30, 2016 by Vidman

chef 3746
No, our app is sourced online. Just out of curiosity, is the online bit to check subscription stuff, or is it much more then that?
Luke 37097
For Apple TV the app is hosted online. That's the way these apple tv apps work. For Theater, it also uses hosted content but there is a way for it to run offline, it just hasn't been built yet.

Sammy 738
This is kind of a big deal. My internet was down for 5 days I could not watch a movie! Theater and Server are on the same PC, why is the internet needed? There still is the option of navigating to the file in explorer and then playing it in MPC-HC or other player such as VLC too. A little cumbersome but in the end you're watching the movie which is why we use Emby in the first place.
Guest asrequested
Sorry to hear about this. Full offline support is planned for the future. Does this mean that if my modem dies but my router is working, I will be able to watch live tv from my HDHR prime in ET while I'm in network? Notfast 7
And also without an internet connection. Yes, meant to write offline. It is for now backup solution. I'm happy to hear that soon theater is also working offline. Good things keeps getting better
