ebr 14940
We think maybe they have changed the way they are storing some of their settings that has caused our automatic setting of some options (mainly turning on the web interface in MPC) to no longer work. Can I commission someone to find out: 1) if this is in fact the case 2) what, exactly has changed and 3) in what version Thanks.
hd4fun 5
I'm running 1.70.7685 (Aug11/13) The current one is 1.71 (11/16/13) - just downloading 64 bit version of both EBR - you mention web interface - can you point me to what you mean by that ? If you let me know what you are looking for I'll try to document before and then after I install the latest version couldn't find where the settings are stored. - it says an ini file - but I don't have one Exported the current setting for 1.70.7685 (registry) - Correction - found dmp file in Appdata/roaming /media player classic (can't edit though) Edited January 10, 2014 by hd4fun
ebr 14940
It is these settings right here I'm most interested in. Where are those saved so that we can manipulate them externally? We suspect something about how they are saved has changed as people are reporting that our automatic process is not enabling the web interface properly. --------More info------- Before there were ini values of: EnableWebServer=1 WebServerPort=13579
Crestj 67
The only thing I find I have to change is the time scale it jumps ahead and back by when using the skip buttons but that's personal preference. Luke 37135
@@jcain staying silent it is only going to lead us to believe that the use of mpc as an external player is not of much interest to you
hd4fun 5
I don't think there is an ini file any more (only for portable version ?) I think everything is stored in the registry - as of almost 2 years ago? https://trac.mpc-hc.org/ticket/1053 in the registry export (just a small section near the bottom with what your looking for): "LogoFile"="" "LogoID2"=dword:000000d1 "LogoExt"=dword:00000000 "HideCDROMsSubMenu"=dword:00000000 "Priority"=dword:00000020 "LaunchFullScreen"=dword:00000000 "EnableWebServer"=dword:00000001 "WebServerPort"=dword:0000350b "WebServerPrintDebugIfo"=dword:00000000 "WebServerUseCompression"=dword:00000001 "WebServerLocalhostOnly"=dword:00000000 "WebRoot"="*./webroot" "WebDefIndex"="index.html;index.php" "WebServerCGI"="" Hope this helps you. I feel bad - I used to read and discuss on the old forums - haven't had time on the new MB3 ones.. Just a fluke I looked this morning I don't know if there is a way to state in the profile using external player MPC-HC - that way you could look us up ? anything else you need just shout Have to go to work for a while - will look again later if you want me to test anything - just ask Edited January 10, 2014 by hd4fun
Luke 37135
ini is only for portable. i believe the configure my player thing does both, or detects which one is used.
ebr 14940
It looks for an INI file and if it doesn't find it, it modifies the registry. The thing is I'm not sure if anything changed here or how if it did...
ebr 14940
Okay, I found the reg file we use and it looks like it is setting to those values. Maybe the folks reporting problems had something blocking us from making registry changes. BTW HD4Fun - Thanks very much for your help. Please come back more often. Fun things are happening around here .
hd4fun 5
Found this in my current version 1.70 http://en.kioskea.net/faq/25050-media-player-classic-store-all-your-settings-to-ini-files So you can save the setting out - I checked mine it's there as well. ---- Would you like me to test ? I can upgrade MPC-HC Then see what the settings are after the upgrade Then I can try to use MBC - and state I am using an external player MPC Then see what the setting in the registry are again ? Have to go - late now let me know how I can help. I have a suspicion you may be right - and nothing has changed ?
ebr 14940
Sure, when you get a chance, test it out. There is a "Configure my player" link on the external player page. When you hit that, it should do the registry settings for you to turn on the web interface. Thanks again.

lurch9366 16
I will look into this over the next few day's. I have noticed the resume has been working on and off lately, I wonder if it is a mpc hc problem as I use it for almost all my files. Thanks ebr and luke. my web interface looks the same as yours ebr but I have had mine set up for quite some time. Do you need me to wipe it out on 1 of my pc's and reinstall? hd4fun 5
Hi EBR Had to work today Yes can stop the playing of video & TV shows by exiting MPC-HC I resumed one immediately for a test - no problem The other I left and it resumed fine the next day
ebr 14940
Thanks, HD. That confirms there is no issue with this logic in the most recent release of MPC.
JustEric78 23
My resume works as intended through many MPC-HC builds including the newest one when I updated to Win 8.1 last night and the newest MPC build. I have always had the problem of no media info being displayed on my imon front display though so I never really messed with the web interface settings. I didnt know resume came from there. The funny thing is if I play a movie directly through MPC (not going through MB3 (or 2) it displayed the media info just fine and still does. Something about launching the external player that has always killed Imon's media display info. Would love for that to work someday.
