ebr 14959
Yes, anything under cache should be safe to delete but it also gets cleaned up automatically. I would shut the server down before you do it though.
Riggs 300
This is an old post, but it happends to me. I leave at side the cover art plugin because of that, i just keep the box set pluging running for collections. I wondering what folder can i delete from the cache after delete the cover art plugin i found a lot of images with the cover art in the cache, and maybe this cause this. The logs don't show nothing about it. I have the refresh metadata to "never" checked When i need update something i do it at hand Any advice? Thank you Edited May 23, 2018 by HRSCR
Luke 37251
You can delete anything under the server's cache folder but you can also just do nothing and it will clean itself up automatically. This is the recommended approach.

Siutsch 9
I use Emby with Windows 10 as portable version, so from time to time I can make a backup copy of the emby.windows directory. If I do that, can I just leave out the cache folder? What happens if I copy that backup with empty cahce folder? Does Emby create the data itself at the first start? Does this slow Emby down in the beginning? But I have to back up the metadata folder, don't I? (It is by far the largest directory with almost 100000 files). And what's with the folder "system.old"? You don't need to backup the cache folder. The metadata folder ideally yes, should be backed up.
