I have the exact same issue, when comparing the log files I also see this line for every music track I'm trying to sync:

Syncing to the default location works fine, but when I select a folder on /sdcard I get this issue. It feels like a permission issue

but I can create the folder using the emby app just fine.

I did notice the owner of the default emby folder is com.mb.android while the folder on the sdcard is owned by root.

The group for both is sdcard_rw and the permission is set to RWX for group so it should not be a problem.

 

I did not have root permissions while creating the folder and I noticed that all folders on sdcard are owned by root so I think that is android default behavior.
