aswieton 0
During playing on chromecast (from mobile app) after few secound/minutes movie/series skips for something about 10 minutes forward or skip to next episode. I've tried to change on low resolution for testing but even on 360kb/s problem still occur. So it's not a problem with wifi additionally because when i use plex server all works fine. What information do you need to investigate problem? Please help I want to use your software not plex Thanks Artur

aswieton 0
Thanks for response. Here you have server log with situation when playing series skip more then 10 minutes during playback. Start from mobile app and playing on chromecast devices I'm not sure it will be enough from my point of view nothing important there The problem is that during this situation no more logs are created. aswieton 0
I tried few times and still nothing. No transcoding logs. Is there any switch or something to force transcoding.log?
aswieton 0
Here you have logs from chrome browser (desktop - wired network) to chromecast. The same situation like on mobile app. After about 2 minutes player skip 10 minutes forward. But still no transcoding.log. Is it possible that all is direct play (on chromecast is that even possible?!) and that is why i don't have trancoding.log? remux-77d77ba8-1fcf-472a-915c-6db1bc883d82.txt server-63601190100.txt Edited June 10, 2016 by aswieton
Luke 37098
ffmpeg log is really what i meant, regardless of whether it's transcoding or just a remux. the only thing i can guess is that we're stream copying this particular video when maybe it should be a full transcode. the log you've provided looks fine to me, it's possible that the chromecast just doesn't handle the output very well. can you provide a sample file for testing? thanks. Edit: can you also provide the external subtitle. thanks.
aswieton 0
Strange thing. When I played some files through web browser on desktop computer I have transcoding.log but when I send the same file on chromecast no transcoding log are created. So it looks like on chromecast there are no transcoding so maybe this is the source of the problem. Is there any options/trick to force transcoding on chromecast?
Luke 37098
That's OK, the devices have different requirements so the output will vary. you can force transcoding for chromecast by lowering the in-app chromecast bitrate setting to a value lower than the content bitrate. aswieton 0
Ok so I switch bitrate from auto to 720p - 2Mbps and have transcoding.log. But now during playing it not skip to forward but just hung on different positions. In logs you have example when file hungs after 2:07. On plex when I have the same bitrate all works perfectly fine. It's from desktop to chromecast server-63601193884.txt transcode-77b24dcd-b1df-4936-97de-680d3c164362.txt Edited June 10, 2016 by aswieton

aswieton 0
Here you have from mobile app to chromecast. Again bitrate set to 720 - 2Mbps. This time files don't want to even start (tried different bitrate - works only on auto bitrate but with random skip). And again on plex mobile app to chromecast all works fine. server-63601193884.txt transcode-0402fca3-bb9c-407e-a40e-f2efa231bbc0.txt

aswieton 0
Please help because for now chromecast streaming is completly useless. Every file skips or hungs during playback. But Plex works fine
Luke 37098
At the moment I'm not sure what your issue is. i've tested your file, both with direct play and also with transcoding, and it's been smooth for me. But I will keep trying. You could potentially try updating ffmpeg as we are using your installed version. Maybe that's the difference. On linux we recommend the builds hosted here: http://johnvansickle.com/ffmpeg/
aswieton 0
I have installed this version of ffmpeg and still the same problem. When I played on web browser or emby mobile app all works fine but chromecast. Edited June 18, 2016 by aswieton

Luke 37098
No, would need a discussion from you about activity you performed as well as the complete log file. just fyi, we have seen some issues with mono 4.4 so right now 4.2.3.4 is still the recommended version. aswieton 0
Ok thanks I try older mono version because now i have funny situation.
