zedd2 0
I thought i saw a place in the server settings long ago that would allow for force transcoding of hvec/x265? Im not sure why but i have several files that play fine direct and recently some that all i get is audio not video. If i change the streaming settings low enough for it to transcode then i get audio and video. Is there anyway to just force transcode with out having to change settings all the time? Im playing via the android tv app on nvidia shield pro

ebr 14959
Thanks but on the first one (the one with the problem) you left out some of the OSD display. It doesn't just say "Direct". There is a "/" and then another letter...

ebr 14959
If you look at all the ones that do play vs. the ones that don't is it the audio that is always different? Can you see anything common about them?
zedd2 0
Ill have to go back and really compare. Going back to the original question is there no longer a server side setting to force transcode for x265

Luke 37252
The reason he's asking is that we are trying to figure out the conditions in which we should be forcing transcoding in order to solve this. If we can't then we'll probably need an in-app setting, but we'd like to do better than that if possible so that it works out of the box.
