CBers 6805
I set up a recording for Emby to action overnight, but when I checked this morning, instead of having 1 large MP4 file, I had multiple 1kb MP4 files instead. Is this a known issue ?? I can supply the server log later if required, but I did delete those files.
CBers 6805
Just set up another recording today and it has created 55 MP4 files, each of 32kb in size !! ebr 14960
Sound like this exact same thing... Failed recording on HD channels leaves lots of 32 byte files
CBers 6805
So no definitive answer yet then. I wish people would use the search function
Nathanio 35
If you use the Convert to MP4 and then keep audio it will use an MKV instead and records happily. Running 3.0.5962.0 It doesn't like the AAC_LATM of FreeviewHD channels in an MP4 container but happy with it in an MKV... I'm sure it used to work into an MP4 mind you! CBers 6805
This issue seems to have come back. On my DEV server, I have Live TV recordings set to convert to MKV and the recording is split up into multiple small files of the same name. On my STABLE server, I have recordings set to convert to MP4 and only 1 file is created. I haven't had a chance to grab logs as yet, but wanted to see/know if anyone else is seeing the same issue please. Thanks.
Luke 37273
There are no recording changes in dev so it's more likely just something that happened with that particular recording
Kent 91
Version 3.0.8300.0 My regularly scheduled recordings, 3 in particular for the wife, are consistently not 'completing' and accessable. I still see them as active recordings. I tried deleting and re-creating the series from scratch no go. I've included the server logs and the record transcode logs (2 of them). Not sure but perhaps the transcode is getting hung up. I'm going to turn off the post-transcode process and see if that gets me back to normal for now. Let me know if you want me to try a few things or need some additional information. server_log.txt transcode1 log.txt transcode 2 log.txt
CBers 6805
No, it seems very repeatable when converting to MKV. Converting to MP4 works fine.
CBers 6805
See attached the server log for the BBC News at One recording, converting to MKV. It does the same in the stable version of the server as well. Hope this helps. Live_TV_MKV_Conversion.txt
Kent 91
Update: 2 out of 3 recordings worked fine with conversion to MP4 turned off. The last 1 was supposed to end 18 minutes ago but still shows that it's recording, although there is no tuner in use.

CBers 6805
I've gone back to mp4 as I had a few do this recently on dev version. I'll see if I can get it to do it again It was like this when converting to MKV was first added and was fixed, but happening in DEV and Stable. I guess it's in Beta as well, but I don't currently have Beta installe to test with. Hopefully @Luke/@ebr can fix it again
CBers 6805
The latest DEV release hasn't fixed this issue, although I thought it might have been following this comment. Anyway, after testing a bit more, I found that it's only creating multiple MKV files on HD channels, as a SD channel recording only created 1 MKV file. Under Recordings, I have multiple recordings of a HD programme: For a couple of the partial HD channel recordings, the Media Info is: VideoCodecH264AVCYesProfileHighLevel40Resolution1920x1080Aspect ratio16:9AnamorphicNoInterlacedNoFramerate25Bitrate4433 kbpsBit depth8 bitPixel formatyuv420pRef frames4NAL4 AudioCodecAACProfileLCLayoutstereoChannels2 chSample rate48000 HzDefaultYesTitleAAC stereo Default Containermkv Path\\MEDIASERVER-3\Videos\Live TV\Breakfast\Breakfast 2016-10-28-8.mkv VideoCodecH264AVCYesProfileHighLevel40Resolution1920x1080Aspect ratio16:9AnamorphicNoInterlacedNoFramerate24.66667Bitrate687 kbpsBit depth8 bitPixel formatyuv420pRef frames4NAL4 AudioCodecAACProfileLCLayoutstereoChannels2 chSample rate48000 HzDefaultYesTitleAAC stereo Default Containermkv Path\\MEDIASERVER-3\Videos\Live TV\Breakfast\Breakfast 2016-10-28-9.mkv VideoCodecH264AVCYesProfileHighLevel40Resolution1920x1080Aspect ratio16:9AnamorphicNoInterlacedNoFramerate25Bitrate3440 kbpsBit depth8 bitPixel formatyuv420pRef frames4NAL4 AudioCodecAACProfileLCLayoutstereoChannels2 chSample rate48000 HzDefaultYesTitleAAC stereo Default Containermkv Path\\MEDIASERVER-3\Videos\Live TV\Breakfast\Breakfast 2016-10-28-13.mkv VideoCodecH264AVCYesProfileHighLevel40Resolution1920x1080Aspect ratio16:9AnamorphicNoInterlacedNoFramerate24.16667Bitrate2473 kbpsBit depth8 bitPixel formatyuv420pRef frames4NAL4 AudioCodecAACProfileLCLayoutstereoChannels2 chSample rate48000 HzDefaultYesTitleAAC stereo Default Containermkv Path\\MEDIASERVER-3\Videos\Live TV\Breakfast\Breakfast 2016-10-28-12.mkv The SD Channel Media Info is: VideoCodecMPEG2VIDEOProfileMainLevel8Resolution544x576Aspect ratio16:9AnamorphicNoInterlacedNoFramerate25Bitrate1681 kbpsPixel formatyuv420pRef frames1 AudioCodecMP2LayoutstereoChannels2 chBitrate128 kbpsSample rate48000 HzDefaultYesTitleMP2 stereo Default Containermkv SD Channel Media Info: VideoCodecMPEG2VIDEOProfileMainLevel8Resolution544x576Aspect ratio16:9AnamorphicNoInterlacedNoFramerate25Bitrate1681 kbpsPixel formatyuv420pRef frames1 AudioCodecMP2LayoutstereoChannels2 chBitrate128 kbpsSample rate48000 HzDefaultYesTitleMP2 stereo Default Containermkv Server log and a couple of Transcode Record logs attached. . server-log_20161028.txt record-transcode_1.txt record-transcode_2.txt record-transcode_3.txt
