Android not playing video

I am trying out the android app to see I want to buy it. I have everything set up but when I try to play the one minute of video in the free version nothing happens. I am trying to play a .mkv file. It plays fine on kodi on a fire TV stick. Could someone give me some suggestions?

I am running server version 3.0.5931.0. I cannot access emby server log at the moment. Not sure if it is necessary.
