digger11 1
I'm wondering whether I'm wasting my time trying to get the Android Mobile app to direct play recorded TV programs created by WMC. I've got live tv direct playing, but recordings made by WMC always transcode. Here is what the web interface says about the wtv files: Audio Language eng Codec AC3 Layout 5.1 Channels 6 ch Bitrate 375 kbps Sample rate 48000 kHz Default No Audio Language spa Codec AC3 Layout mono Channels 1 ch Bitrate 125 kbps Sample rate 48000 kHz Default No Video Codec MPEG2VIDEO Profile Main Level 4 Resolution 1280x720 Aspect ratio 16:9 Anamorphic No Interlaced Yes Framerate 59.94006 Bit rate 13525 kbps Pixel format yuv420p Ref frames 1 Subtitle Codec CC_DEC Default No Forced No External No
digger11 1
I guess that since the wiki (https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Android%20Mobile) doesn't list .wtv under the Direct Play Media Formats section, and given the lack of response to the contrary, that I should just go ahead and assume it is not currently possible. Luke 37119
Yea, sorry, I missed this, but direct play of wtv is not currently supported.
digger11 1
Thanks Luke. Guess I'll invest my time into trying to get quick sync working then.
Luke 37119
the other thing you could do is look at the folder sync feature as a way to create streaming friendly versions of those recordings: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Folder%20Sync
