Podcast Plugin: Download vs Stream Enhancement

Hi @@ebr - Thanks for the great podcast plugin. My situation is that I live in an area without great internet speeds (1-2 Mbit/s down on a good day). So, streaming audio can be spotty and streaming vodcasts like TED can't keep up. Could I suggest adding a download feature as described below?

 

My personal solution is to use the download & autotag feature in Media Monkey and set up a Media Library podcast repository entry as Music. Media Monkey subscriptions have quite a bit of control to download and retain over a specified date/episode range which may be a feature of interest to others. Also, the tagged podcast artwork in RAL is always available after autotagging.

 

I realize this is way down on the list of things to do but what do you think of this as an enhancement?

As you said, this is probably way down the list .

 

I'm happy for some other dev to pick it up and try and implement it though.

if someone does decide to pick this up, they could probably make it a two for one and apply the same concepts to add a download option to the trailer plugin.
