mkcvenezia 2
I have the emby plugin working correctly to access my media when at home. I would also like to access my media remotely. My understanding is that I could use alternate address to do that. However, I don't know how to get it working. When I configure the settings to enable alternate address, this is what I do: For alternate address server, I take my address listed from when I log into the Emby server and past it in. Someting like this: 2##1:2##:100:#d#7:d##e:#caf:##c0:#aaf (I've changed the numbers to hide my address, also did this to the log) I've also enabled playback from http. I don't use https, do I have to? If I have to, how do I enable it? What am I doing wrong? kodi.log
Angelblue05 4130
No that's your ipv6 address. You have to put in your external ip address: http://whatismyipaddress.com/ .You can use a free ddns service like no-ip.org to make it accessible via a specific address. You can change the value in the emby dashboard > advanced > hosting > external WAN address.

All you really need to do to access remotely is assign your server a static IP address then in your router you forward port 8096 to that ipCheck the wiki or Google if you don't understand any of that Edited February 29, 2016 by Vidman
