grvland 2 Posted February 25, 2016 Author Posted February 25, 2016 Fresh Emby install, same problem. I'm no expert, but it still seems like an ffmpeg issue to me. If I compare transcoding logs from an H264 (does not work) file to an MPEG2 file (does work), there is a vast difference. The H264 log is littered with various errors like: [h264 @ 0000000000612460] non-existing PPS 0 referenced[h264 @ 0000000000612460] decode_slice_header error[h264 @ 0000000000612460] no frame! [NULL @ 00000000005b7000] Packet header is not contained in global extradata, corrupted stream or invalid MP4/AVCC bitstream [NULL @ 00000000005b7000] Failed to open bitstream filter h264_mp4toannexb for stream 0 with codec copy: Invalid argumentframe= 69 fps=0.0 q=-1.0 size= 75kB time=00:00:03.05 bitrate= 202.2kbits/s speed=6.11x Is this kind of output normal?
Luke 40070 Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 it is doing a stream copy on the h264 when it probably should be re-encoding. do we know if their video is interlaced or not?
grvland 2 Posted February 25, 2016 Author Posted February 25, 2016 @@Luke I'm pretty sure it's interlaced. I'll check with MediaInfo or ffmpeg idet later tonight.
Sammy 786 Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 mediainfo won't read .wtv. Play it in WMC and hit 411 > Info on your remote while it is playing. You need to scroll down to about page 4 or 5 so do it quickly, you only have 42 seconds unless you have the full length file for a little more time.
grvland 2 Posted February 25, 2016 Author Posted February 25, 2016 @@Sammy Thanks! I've got plenty of files, I just didn't think you would want to download a giant file and mine closes after 5 seconds anyway
grvland 2 Posted February 25, 2016 Author Posted February 25, 2016 @@Luke WMC reports that it is NOT interlaced, I was wrong.
crash2009 4 Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Here is a sample .wtv file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byi_EhSH0IdWTFh2LXBYSUZZV3c/view?usp=sharing Perhaps someone with a similar setup can drop this into their 'Recorded TV' folder and test it? That would help eliminate the case that something is wonky on my machine. A little late to the party..... Plays in WMC win7, Emby html in Vivaldi, Android tab over WAN. I would say there is nothing wrong with the .wtv file What browser are you using to open Emby with?
