In the app settings, change the audio mode to "Compatible".

My end user tried that, but no change.  Does it require a app restart/stick reboot for it to take effect?

Oh shoot.  This item would be transcoding so that setting would have no effect.

Has to be some sort of error on how it is being transcoded on the server.  What happens if you make the second audio track the default?

I've asked my user to test.  Here is the thing though, for FireTV Sticks where only 2 channel is put out, should it be converting it to 6 channel?

The stick actually should be able to put out 5.1 if it is connected to the proper equipment.  I think that is actually what is happening to you now.  it is outputting 5.1 and your TV is only playing the L/R channels.  I think most TVs will automatically downmix in that situation.  You might have them check to see if there is a setting on the TV input for audio stereo vs. 5.1...
