Live TV with HDHR not starting..

A strange issue... if I use the HDHR windows app, the TV works fine. If I go through Emby, it doesn't load.

Any reason this might happen? Both on mobile and on my web client... I got it to load like... once. But after that it just sits there and doesn't do anything.

Thanks for any ideas!

Attaching the log file... hope this helps! I can start the channel to play ONE time, but after that it doesn't do anything. I can still play it with the HDHR app though. I have to reboot to be able to play it again :(

Actually in a bit of irony... NOTHING is playing back right now. Can't start a movie through the web client or anything else.

I tried the web client from my desktop, as well as the Windows universal app with no joy.

Again as I said... the live TV works fine from the HDHR device and the HDHR apps, just not through Emby. Emby does change the channel on the tuner (I see the log on the HDHR itself) but never makes it to my screen.

I am having the same issue. My infrastructure is all CAT5E and EMBY works perfectly for everything except live TV. Guide loads very slowly and have gotten video maybe 3 times out of 100. I use the mobile app, windows app, and have tried the web app with chrome and IE11. Not sure if related but I am unable to view DRM channels in WMC (using as standby till this is fixed) but all work fine in the HDHomerun View app. Also not sure if it matters but I have a domain here and the "Emby Server" is a VM running Win 10 with 2 cores allocated as well as 4 GB of ram. No issues with streaming or menu's loading for movies, music, or D-Loaded TV. PC's used for testing have and have not been domain joined. The server is domain joined. Firewall seems to make no difference. I'm hoping for a speedy resolution. Not sure where to find logs but had tuner status page open on other screen and Emby isn't tuning. WMC does and HDHR view works.

Should note, if I tune to a channel after a reboot, it works ONCE.. after that it doesn't work at all. So I tuned to a local channel 7 to watch Jeopardy, then changed channels and boom, nothing.

This is on a totally fresh install of Emby as WELL as a totally fresh install of Windows. Emby is making the call to the tuner, it just isn't displaying anything. I get the log on the HDHR device:

For me, it is working on Chrome, but not FF or IE.

Also it is not working for IOS for me.

This is exactly my experience with server version 3.0.5818.0 running on WS2012E. I see the ffmpeg process starting on the server and then stopping again. Also the tuner light n HDHR comes on briefly. After that the browser reports "Video error: There was an error playing the video. Please ensure there is an open tuner available. On the other hand, movies play fine on Firefox (v43.0.4).

Here the transcode log:

Sorry guys I know you're probably wondering why doesn't it just work with Browser A like it does with Browser B. We're doing our best. Delivering transcoded live tv on demand is not an easy thing to do. The more features the browser has, the easier it is to pull off. That's why it works well in Chrome, Firefox isn't bad, and IE obviously is really difficult. Despite the issues here I do think the recent changes have improved Firefox playback, see here for example:

http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/30357-livetv-playback-firefox/?p=292901

I am still continuing to look into it though.

I also am having some issues with this.  We are using the iOS app, the Android App, and Chrome.  I have found that when it starts having issues, the system needs to be restarted.  Seems as though EMBY is not terminating the tuners on HDHR Prime at all times.  There are times when I am watching a show, then disconnect and the HDHR Prime still shows something connected (one of the tuner lights are on).  When I connect again, another Tuner Light on the box comes on, but nothing will show, you get a black screen.  Hopefully this will be figured out soon.

I do know this is a difficult process and appreciate what has been done to date.

So today I found that I was able to watch LiveTV consistently without issue if I manually set the stream to  a lower value:  720P - 1 Mbps.  The auto option set the stream to 720P - 6Mbps which seemed to give sporadic issues depending on where I was streaming from.  At one point it was set to 1080P 60Mbps, not sure why...

Just wanted to pass this on as my issues have seemed to vanish.  I will also note that I am currently running EMBY Server Version 3.0.5871.0
