Team,

Today, for the first time we’re simultaneously releasing new stable and beta releases. We’re pleased to announce that we now have beta packages for several Linux distributions, which you can check out on our website:

https://emby.media/downloads

3.0.5782.0 Stable:

New Opus Audio Transcoding

In the web client, transcoded music now uses Opus in supported browsers. Opus is an open format and has superior quality to aac and mp3. Currently this is supported in Chrome and recent versions of Firefox. Other browsers will continue to use the formats they were using before.

Other changes:

  • fix video playback in opera browser
  • fix encoding of dts 6.1 audio tracks
  • fix Greek subtitle downloading from OpenSubtitles
  • fix subtitles showing at wrong position when resuming with DLNA
  • fix Chromecast connection with reverse proxies

3.0.5800.0 Beta:

This new beta includes all of the changes in above stable release, along with two new features that are ready for beta testing. If you’re running beta, please help us test these features so that they can be promoted to the stable channel.

IPV6 Support

Emby’s http server can now receive requests using it’s IPV6 IP address.

Improved Daily Episode Support

We’ve added support for internet metadata for daily episodes.
