Mirdog 0
Hi, I´m using both Kodi and Plex to follow some TV-series but are limited as a user when it comes to Xbox 360 as extender. Emby does this ok but it lacks a lot of channel plugins. Is it possible to use kodi and plex plugins with Emby?

Mirdog 0
Is it possible to use Kodi or Plex server together with Emby to send video to Xbox 360?
Vidman 589
emby has a plugin for kodi, but I think you shouldnt need anything beside embys DLNA function to send video to xbox
Mirdog 0
As i understand it, the plugin for kodi is to use emby as server together with a kodi skin without the channel plugin from kodi? The part with using dlna seems correct but will it actually work? Il be using two servers simultaniously? Solution Vidman 589 Posted December 8, 2015 Solution Share Posted December 8, 2015 (edited) Can't answer that for your situation....you can only send content available to emby server obviously ...have you looked into playon ?to see if they have the streaming channels you're after, emby has a playon plugin Edited December 8, 2015 by Vidman
Mirdog 0
Ok, thank you @@Vidman. I will try and also have a look at playon. At least they have some of the channels i use. Edited December 9, 2015 by Mirdog

Sven 136
Im missing the Swedish channels like, SVTPlay, TV4Play, Cmore, ViaPlay. Do they have API's available? Do you need an account for those channels? Do you need to live in Sweden for that? Can other people test it then?
Mirdog 0
Im not familiar with API, However, all channels are on the webb, on android and IOS as apps, and on Plex and Kodi. You dont need an account but you need to live in Sweden. Edited December 9, 2015 by Mirdog
Mirdog 0
I installed Emby server and theater yesterday and found SVTPlay in the channel catalog. I had both Kodi and Emby server running and Emby server found my Kodi profile as "device". However I could not find my Kodi video library "channel library, video add-on in Emby theater. I will search for a tutorial if no one has a link as referens how to reach channel library through dlna. Edited December 9, 2015 by Mirdog
popeen 0
Do they have API's available? Do you need an account for those channels? Do you need to live in Sweden for that? Can other people test it then? CMore and ViaPlay requires premium accounts and I know that at least CMore is using encrypted streams and Silverlight so I would guess thats prety much a dead end. TV4 and SVT on the other hand are probably possible. They don't have any official APIs as far as I know but there is an unofficial one at http://pirateplay.se/api/manual.html that works fine and is open source under GPL. You never need an account for SVT streams, TV4 needs an account for premium videos but not others. Some (most probably) videos can only be seen inside Sweden and some can be seen all over the world. Here are a couple of videos that should work outside Sweden http://www.svtplay.se/video/5191336/rapport/rapport-08-12-19-30 (can be seen until 15 dec) http://www.tv4play.se/program/nyheterna?video_id=3231609 (can be seen for more then 100 days from now) Also if you are interested you might want to have a look at this, it is the source for the Swedish channels on the Retrospect addon for Kodi https://bitbucket.org/basrieter/xbmc-online-tv-nightly/src/2958de261447/net.rieter.xot.channel.se/?at=nightly Edited December 9, 2015 by popeen

popeen 0
Judging from the domain, I think we want to steer clear of that... Yeah, I sort of get that. But it is not what it look like. On the frontpage it sais this (I have translated to english) The name of the page implies that it is something, if not illegal at least shady. That is not the case. The name was chosen only as a travesty on the infamous The Pirate Bay-projects name. Privatkopiering (private copying) is since a long time subsidized and legal in Sweden. To share a work you do not have the copyright to - for example something you used pirateplay to download - is on the other hand, illegal for now. To archive them for personal use is legal. Still it is probably better to look at how Retrospect did it since you would otherwise have to rely on a third party API that may or may not decide to close down tomorrow making the plugin unusable. I had a quick look at it after writing the comment earlier and is seems that getting the streams from SVT at least is as easy as adding ?output=json after the url and then you can get an m3u8 file from there. In this file there are a couple of other m3u8 files for different quality, putting one of those in a strm file for Emby works fine. For example http://www.svtplay.se/video/5191336/rapport/rapport-08-12-19-30 becomes http://www.svtplay.se/video/5191336/rapport/rapport-08-12-19-30?output=json and eventually you end up with this file that plays fine in Emby. http://svtplay14n-f.akamaihd.net/i/world/open/20151208/1368602-260A/1368602-260A-RAPPORT1930-PLAY.dif_,988,240,348,456,636,1680,2796,.mp4.csmil/index_6_av.m3u8?null=&hdntl= Update: Found an m3u8 for TV4 as well, For the link posted above it would go like this First the normal link http://www.tv4play.se/program/nyheterna?video_id=3231609 Putting the video_id into a link like this gives some xml https://prima.tv4play.se/api/web/asset/3231609/play?protocol=hls In the xml you will find this m3u8 http://tv4play-i.akamaihd.net/i/mp4root/2015-12-09/nyheterna0800-48926321_3231609_,T6MP43,T6MP48,T6MP415,T6MP425,_.mp4.csmil/master.m3u8 Edited December 9, 2015 by popeen
