vaise 307
Hi I have upgraded to Windows 10 and hence keeping a closer eye on my PC than normal. My wife is in the other room, watching recordings done with NextPVR (via old style non dlna HDHR tuners) on the Roku player. She is working her way through episodes of 'The Block'. I have noticed that the FFMPEG app that normally uses a large percentage of the CPU is NOT THERE for some episodes, and is there for other episodes. I love the CPU utilisation when this is not there (<10%) but when it is there (100%) - when there, it seems to want to take whatever is available (80-90% at the moment. What decides this transcoding requirement ? Thanks.
ebr 14926
The exact contents of the media file vs. the capabilities of the device playing it. First guess in your case would be the audio is different.
vaise 307
Thats what I thought - but the same show, from the same TV network..... different episodes. I though that was quite strange.
