InIrons 0
Hi Brand new installation... just trying it out for the first time today. Windows 7 with HDHOMERUN PRIME with 3 tuners and cablecard... none of my channels have the copy protection flag as per Brighthouse in Central FL Am using Schedules Direct for digital cable When I navigate to the guide and I click on a show and click the green play button..... nothing happens I got the logs and noted the following error: *** Error Report *** Version: 3.0.5781.1 Command line: C:\Users\Win7\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\System\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe Operating system: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Processor count: 4 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: False Program data path: C:\Users\Win7\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server Application Path: C:\Users\Win7\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\System\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe Unable to read data from the transport connection: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine. System.IO.IOException at System.Net.Sockets.NetworkStream.BeginRead(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 size, AsyncCallback callback, Object state) at SocketHttpListener.Net.HttpConnection.BeginReadRequest() InnerException: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.BeginReceive(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 size, SocketFlags socketFlags, AsyncCallback callback, Object state) at System.Net.Sockets.NetworkStream.BeginRead(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 size, AsyncCallback callback, Object state) Logs are uploaded as an attachment to this posting Seems its having issue with the "transport connection" which I am assuming is the interface/api/dohickey that the tuner streams video over or that Emby listens for. Am I missing something on the setups? Thanks! server-63582780014.txt
Luke 37161
Hi, welcome. This isn't your live TV problem, but your server is currently unable to start. The error message says: The http server is unable to start due to a Socket error. This can occasionally happen when the operating system takes longer than usual to release the IP bindings from the previous session. This can take up to five minutes. Please try waiting or rebooting the system. Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted System.Net.Sockets.SocketException I am guessing after you had trouble playing live tv, you probably frantically restarted the server a few times? Sometimes when you do this windows will take a long time to release the socket, and then you go to start back up again and the server is unable to bind because the previous instance hasn't been released. So first I would restart your computer to clear that up. Second, do you have a log from when you actually tried to play live tv? What browser are you trying to play with? InIrons 0
Hi Liuke thanks so much for very very quick reply.... Yep that was it... But one thing I noticed that may be a separate thread but maybe you can answer here for 2 issues: #1. My lower channels are standard definition and my higher channels are high definition. I can watch the standard definition channels no problem other than issue #2 below but when I try to watch the high definition channels they play for 2-4 seconds and then it stops and the screen freezes and nothing more. Is there some sort of buffer I need to increase or something so the video doesnt freeze? Its not stuttering or jerkin it just plays for a few seconds and stops and the video screen is there its just stopped #2 When I click on a video off the guide to play.... it takes like 10 seconds to play. Is there any way to speed this up? Thanks! Preston aka InIrons
Luke 37161
We'd have to take a look at a log file to really answer those questions. Please see: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ But as for #2, browsers do not natively support these live tv streams so we have to use a technique called transcoding in order to convert them to a format the browser understands. This can take time and 10 seconds is not abnormal unfortunately. Our other apps on other devices are capable of starting it much quicker because many of them natively support the live tv formats. Luke 37161
well that's different from what you described. that looks like a complete failure. are you sure the channel doesn't have DRM?
