SomebodySysop 2
I have noticed that on the Movie detail screens for movies that appear both in Guide and Recordings, more times than not, the movie year not displayed. Furthermore, with respect to Recordings, the movie filenames include the date of the recording rather than the movie year -- which makes metadata searching very difficult. Is this by design, a bug, or are these circumstances where the movie year is not available? Or, is there some setting that I have missed? Thanks! Happy2Play 8351
How would I check that? In Metadata Manager or you can click the three dot, then edit. Or open the xml or nfo metadata directly.
SomebodySysop 2
I think I should have mentioned that I am referring to Movies I have recorded using Emby in Recorded TV. I checked the metadata manager and not one OTA movie I have recorded using Emby so far has the movie year in metadata. See attached. It does, however, appear that most of the OTA TV shows I have recorded DO contain the release date and year in metadata.
SomebodySysop 2
Not having the movie year causes this problem (see attachment) where you have a poster and description from two different movies in different years with the same name. Very frustrating. Is there anything that can be done about this?
Vidman 589
I would guess that this is limited by what info is supplied by the EPG Ie emby can only go by the info it has available to it...if the guide does not supply the year of the movie there is not much emby can do about it Edited November 9, 2015 by Vidman
SomebodySysop 2
I would guess that this is limited by what info is supplied by the EPG Ie emby can only go by the info it has available to it...if the guide does not supply the year of the movie there is not much emby can do about it This I understand. However, what is unknown is if Emby is even configured to get the movie year from OTA guide. For example, a description of the movie appears in the guide popup (when you roll your cursor over an item in the guide). However, this description disappears in the movie detail screen (or in the metadata) after the movie is recorded in Emby. See attachments. Is this by design or an accidental omission? I am using Schedules Direct and have asked them the same question. However, I know for a fact that there is some metadata that is in the guide that is missing from the recorded movie. SomebodySysop 2
I am using Schedules Direct and have asked them the same question. It appears that the movie year metadata is in the guide. This is the response from Schedules Direct: > My lineup is for Local Los Angeles Broadcasts. I am > using Emby as my DVR software. So far, none of the Over The Air > movies I has scheduled and recorded contain the Movie Year in the > metadata. I'm trying to determine if this is an issue with the > broadcast stations, Schedules Direct or Emby. SomebodySysop 2
OK, if this is in fact a failing in the software, what can be done about it?
