Best way to optimize server for Emby... for apps or background processes?

I have a Windows 2012 Essentials server that runs Emby and my Crashplan backups, and also functions as the backend DVR server for the Silicondust DVR app that is currently in Alpha.   I have been running the server in the mode to optimize for background services.  Does this make much of a difference to Emby?

My main daily use for Emby is through my Shield TV running the Kodi plugin.

You could always run Emby as a service which would put it in the background and therefore put it in the optimized grouping.
