Erik 120
Hello, Is there a setting that changes the transcoding bitrate to my Chromecast (2015 version). Its a 720p file with a bitrate just over of 5 Mbps but being transcoded down to 3 Mbps (says the server admin home page). Can I raise the quality being cast? I'm sure my network can handle it but couldn't find an setting. transcode log attached. Thanks, Erik

Erik 120
@@Luke I set it to the max of 30Mbps and pass through AC3. It works great, just wondered if 30 is the max he chromecast can handle? I only ask as my blu-ray movies show 32-33 Mbps in the details section so they would get transcoded. Could a setting of 35 or 40 be used to avoid that? Thanks again. Edited November 3, 2015 by Erik
Luke 37271
For the original chromecast device, 10-11mbps is the recommended maximum. i'm not sure if the new device can go higher or not.
