thefirstofthe300 291
I have noticed that if I am playing a video that is not 100% native to the Android player that my Android's battery drains rather quickly. Consequently, I would like to see an option to force transcoding to native formats for streaming video to preserve battery life. I would rather have the power drain on my always plugged in server than on my battery-powered tablet. I know that I can set the stream quality lower but I would have to adjust that quality for every video and figure out exactly what the bitrate is (which is rather cumbersome). Also, I know I can sync the media, but that kind of defeats the purpose if I get a sudden urge to watch Edge of Tomorrow while I am out of the house. I don't want to sync because that takes battery and a lot of time for my 1080p file so streaming is the best option in that situation. Would anyone else use this besides me?
