mortstar 2
My server is setup behind an nginx reverse proxy so I can connect to https://mydomain.org/emby (which forwards to http://192.168.0.1:8096. This all works very nicely in the Android app and via web browsers. However, I'm trying to get a family member up and running and they are using a FireTV. They can successfully get on to the server using a browser but when trying to enter the server in the FireTV it gets an 'unable to connect error'. In the browser just https://mydomain.org/emby works fine. The user has tried this in FireTV as well as these variations: https://mydomain.org:443/emby mydomain.org/emby mydomain.org:443/emby none of them are working. I can't see anything in the Emby server logs of failed connections. Should the FireTV be able to make this connection? The SSL certificate is valid. Luke 37262
right now the apps connect to the server just using the bare address. i do want to update them all to use the /emby subfolder. i've just been putting it off because i haven't wanted to deal with the temporary pain we might have while we switch over. but i'll try to get started on it soon. ebr 14959
If you would like to test this with the new beta of the Emby FTV app, please PM me the email address associated with the Amazon account and be sure that the account allows marketing communications - specifically invitations. Cerothen 91
Any suggestions in the mean time that we could use as a regex to proxy the appropriate elements (or is it just to many)? I tried to put a few together and had no luck as it seems I couldn't manage to get everything.
ebr 14959
The above version of the app was released yesterday.
Cerothen 91
@@ebr I was actually hoping to use it with the android app since it has some SSL issues and I could then close one of my extra open ports. I just figured I would continue an existing thread. Thanks,
