QcGix 5
Hi, I have an issue which I'm not sure if it's related to Emby for kodi or kodi in general. I have Emby server version 3.0.5675.1 running on a QNAP Nas. I installed Emby for Kodi 1.1.13 and it worked perfectly for a few weeks. Now when I open Kodi, as soon as I see the Emby server welcome pop-up, a random movie will auto start. If I press stop, two seconds after a other random movie will autostart... The only way to stop it is to close a movie and quickly open a menu (settings, music, etc). It only happen if I am in the main menu screen, as soon as I open the settings menu it won't auto start a movie. If I go back in the main menu, two seconds later, a movie will auto start again... Very annoying! I tried to update to the latest Beta and I'm having the same issue. I also try to Reset the local kodi DB and as soon as everything is sync, I get the same issue. I attached zipped log as it was too big. From that log, the first movie to start was 21 Jump Street then Battle : Los Angeles and Austin Power (not sure about the order) Can someone help me? Thanks! kodi.zip
JohnVee 18
The same thing is happening to me, exactly how you describe. It happened two weeks ago, and I just uninstalled/reinstalled Kodi. I thought the problem was gone, until it started doing it again today. Very frustrating indeed! I hope somebody can figure out the problem with the log you posted. Angelblue05 4130
Is it only playing movies? Is it always the same movies that start?
JohnVee 18
For me, it's only playing movies. It always starts playing (500) days of summer first, which is the first movie in my collection sorted by name. Then it skips a few titles and plays 47 Ronin, then 2001 A Space Odyssey....and keeps working it's way through my entire collection. There's with no way of stopping it, except for how QcGix pointed out above.
QcGix 5
It's also only movies for me (i have movies, tv shows and music synced with Emby). It also seems to often start with the first movie in my collection which is 21 jump street and then it skip a few titles (exactly like JohnVee mentionned). I think i've seen it start with other movies than 21 jump street. I will do some more test tomorrow. Thanks !
JohnVee 18
Ok, tried it a few more times. The first movie that starts is always the same for me....(500) Days of Summer. The ones that play after that are always different. It does however work it's way up the alphabet. So the second time I tried, it played 8 mm next, then 42. Angelblue05 4130
Do you both use Genesis? Could it be the problem? Some type of auto-play library or something is going on. I don't think the bug lies in our add-on because it doesn't initialize any playback. It only maintains your library so it's in sync with the Emby library. Something is causing playback to start and our add-on responds to it. Again, we'll need to troubleshoot any possible conflict. Vidman 589
I have it happen to me too. .. No other videos addons just tvtunes and nextup notifications
JohnVee 18
I do have Genesis installed, but even after uninstalling Genesis, it still auto-plays. I think it installs other crap on there when you install the addon, I'm just not sure what else to delete.
JohnVee 18
Ok, I think I might have found the culprit...When it started happening again for me tonight, tvtunes was just updated. I deleted it from the addons folder, and now nothing auto-starts when opening Kodi.
QcGix 5
I tried again this morning and it was always starting with my first movie. I tried to disable TvTunes and it worked. No more movies auto-start! Thanks alot JohnVee!
Angelblue05 4130
Which version of tv tunes are you using? I am using tv tunes on my main htpc (helix) and no problems here. Thanks
QcGix 5
6.0.2 which I assumed updated automatically yesterday. It's not an issue anymore for me as I was not using the addon (even if it was enable) but if you want me to do some testing for troubleshooting purposes, I will be glad to help. Angelblue05 4130
Ok I'll verify, I think I just saw the update on my test machine. Thank you again for confirming tv tunes was the culprit.
evilpig 1
This has been happening to me since yesterday. But the problem is I don't even have TVTunes installed on this machine and it's still happening I found instead of stopping or clicking back, just pause it for like 30 seconds then stop it and it won't play another movie, but still quite frustrating. This is an excerpt of my log file around when it happens. 12:18:20 T:12724 NOTICE: -->Python Interpreter Initialized<-- 12:18:20 T:10196 NOTICE: Previous line repeats 1 times. 12:18:20 T:10196 NOTICE: Thread LanguageInvoker start, auto delete: false 12:18:21 T:12724 NOTICE: Previous line repeats 1 times. 12:18:21 T:12724 NOTICE: Parameter string: ?id=1858ccd3551f2f98925669a822c55815&mode=play/Extras 12:18:21 T:6856 ERROR: XFILE::CDirectory::GetDirectory - Surfdude 0
Is there any news on the TV Tunes update? I'm experiencing the same problem after an update. I've worked around it for the moment but I've had to change skin as my preferred skin requires TV Tunes to be enabled for some reason.
madfloyd 0
Hi all, I'm also experiencing this problem. It started when I installed the skin 'Back Row' which uses the Tv Tunes add-on. I would like to disable the add-on but Kodi won't let me - it says Back Row is dependent on it. However, there does not seem to be any way to remove a skin (or at least not that I can see!). Is there a hidden folder on my PC where it is stored - where I can delete it? I can't find a skins folder under the main Kodi folder. Thanks! Vidman 589
Disable and uninstall are 2 different things.... You should be able to dis able the tv tunes addon You may have to change the skin to the default confluence before you can uninstall back row Edited September 22, 2015 by Vidman
madfloyd 0
I did switch to Confluence before attempting to disable the TV Tunes. It won't let you (which I sort of understand, given that you could then switch to Back Row and have it not work). So... the question is: how do you get rid of (or disable) a specific skin? Angelblue05 4130
@@madfloyd As a workaround for now you could try to sync media themes (so it sets a custom path for tv tunes). So as soon as you start Kodi, launch Emby for Kodi add-on and the last list entry should be Sync media themes to Kodi, let it run and restart Kodi. It should solve the issue for now until it's resolved TV Tunes side. Edited September 23, 2015 by Angelblue05
