Issues with FF RW etc

I have a sony BDP 5200 blu ray, and from day one I cannot get the FF or RW to work at all on DNLA. Not too sure where to start really.

 

Also playback on my Xbox one has issues when FF/RW - when i FF and then press play, depending on how much I have skipped determines how long play takes to resume. So say if I FF 20 mins of viewing once hitting play it takes several minutes to resume playing.

 

 

Any tips !

I have a BDP-S5500, and so far, the profile I've created allows you to FF/REW everything except for files that need transcoded.  Although the BDP-S5500 will play pretty much everything thrown at it for me so far.  It even plays MKV with h264 and DTS-HD Master, but I had to set the max stream bitrate very high or else Emby would transcode it, so if you are using wireless, my profile may not work.  One of my only problems is figuring out how to get FF/REW to work for the M2TS files, and how to differentiate between non-divx mpeg4 and divx mpeg4, because the player will not play divx avi, and so divx files won't transcode in the profile making them unplayable.  Another problem is keeping it from transcoding certain online mp4 formats, whereas on Serviio it serves the files without transcoding.  Your model is a little older than mine, but I am pretty sure that this will work for you for the most part, and we can try and work together on tweaking it if you want.  I looked up your manual online and the formats listed in the manual are identical to my model.

Name the xml file "Sony Blu-ray Player 2014.xml" and put it in the /dlna/user/ folder.  Let me know how this works for you.  Hopefully we can get divx avi files to actually transcode and the transcoded m2ts videos to use ff/rew.

 

Also, one last thing, make sure to disable subtitles in your profile, or Emby will transcode everything with subtitles.

Yes, there are enough unique identifiers it won't be a problem for any existing profiles.  I wouldn't make these official or anything yet, they seriously need some tweaking.

I have used the profile above for my BDP-S5500, and I can see a change, for example my MKVs are now working, but other files are now not playing...

Just FYI regarding the comment about subtitles:

I have a BDP-S5100.

Most of my files are MP4 (h264, ac3/aac) with DVDSUB internal to the file OR

MKV straight from the disc, including video, audio and at least one subtitle track.

 

I originally had no problem with MKV and internal subs from disc. My BDP would let me alternate subtitles using the remote just like playing a disc.

 

After encoding some of my files to MP4, with internal subs, I noticed the transcode issue. It was resolvable for me by adding the following to my BDP DLNA profile:
