zedox 1 Posted August 14, 2015 Share Posted August 14, 2015 As topic title dictates, I have tried in Chrome, IE and Firefox. Whenever I change the serverwmc ip/name field from localhost to that of the server and click Save, the settings simply do not get saved! Is this a known issue? I've done some searching on the forums but can't find a solution Thanks in advance! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
zedox 1 Posted August 14, 2015 Author Share Posted August 14, 2015 Appears the settings will not save if a connection cannot be made. Seems the firewall rules ServerWMC creates when installed were not enough Even though the default port 9080 is being used I had to manually create a rule to allow it through On top of this emby does not give any error or popup that the settings are not saving because of a connection issue. Very un-user friendly Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Luke 37096 Posted August 14, 2015 Share Posted August 14, 2015 Sorry, in the next release, live tv is going to be quite a bit easier. It is possible the plugin configuration page is swallowing the error without presenting a message. krustyreturns will have to comment. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
krustyreturns 191 Posted August 15, 2015 Share Posted August 15, 2015 It's true that the plugin won't change to the new settings if they result in a connection error. But I don't get why the manual install of the firewall rule for port 9080 was required. My guess is that when serverwmc was first ran and it tried to open the port listener, windows should have asked if that was okay, and you replied 'no' Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
dowen01 0 Posted October 7, 2015 Share Posted October 7, 2015 I have the same issues however my firewall ports are open (I can telnet) and when I look at the log on the serverwmc pc I get this 2015/10/07 11:55:37.308 SocketServer> starting up SocketServer2015/10/07 11:55:37.308 SocketServer> permission to access sockets granted2015/10/07 11:55:37.308 SocketServer> socket object created2015/10/07 11:55:37.318 SocketServer> The first listed ethernet interface will be used for client Wake On LAN target - use MACAddressOverride setting to change:2015/10/07 11:55:37.368 SocketServer> [1] Interface: 'Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller' MAC: 7C:D3:0A:13:DB:0F2015/10/07 11:55:37.368 SocketServer> started on port: 90802015/10/07 11:55:37.368 WCF service not started as requested2015/10/07 11:55:37.368 Worker::Init> PrimeTimeRecordings not enabled2015/10/07 11:55:37.368 Worker::Init> MaintenanceTimer created2015/10/07 11:55:37.378 InitializeWorker> successfully started: True2015/10/07 11:55:37.378 MaintenanceTimer> Callback started at 11:552015/10/07 11:55:37.975 XmlRecordStore> Recording objects loaded: 02015/10/07 11:55:38.007 MaintenanceTimer> Callback - complete2015/10/07 11:55:42.671 MainWindow::Window_Loaded> not running as service, checking folder status.2015/10/07 11:55:42.671 MainWindow::Window_Loaded> Done2015/10/07 11:55:42.751 MainWindow> opening DoRecTVErrorDialog2015/10/07 11:55:42.751 DoRecTVErrorDialog> creating dialog2015/10/07 11:55:42.751 DoRecTVErrorDialog> dialog config created2015/10/07 11:55:42.751 DoRecTVErrorDialog> showing dialog2015/10/07 11:55:51.413 DoRecTVErrorDialog> returning: Close2015/10/07 11:56:50.679 Connected client: 'Emby^MB01', IP: 192.168.168.4, machine: 'MB01', isRemote: True2015/10/07 11:56:50.679 > addon/plugin Version: 1.0.0.63, Client OS: windows 6.2.9200.02015/10/07 11:56:50.689 > path to Rec Folder: '\\ds01\Recorded TV'2015/10/07 12:03:37.873 MaintenanceTimer> Callback started at 12:032015/10/07 12:03:37.873 MaintenanceTimer> Callback - complete2015/10/07 12:11:37.997 MaintenanceTimer> Callback started at 12:112015/10/07 12:11:37.997 PurgeAndUpdateClients> 'Emby^MB01' disconnecting, due to inactivity.2015/10/07 12:11:37.997 MaintenanceTimer> Callback - complete But i still cant save it Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
