ressu 13
I've had my share of issues with chromecast. The latest updates have brought chromecast support to somewhat tolerable levels. But with lack of subtitle switching support I'm still forced to resort to other means to watch anything that requires subtitles. This means that I quite often switch away from emby to other clients. The Android client appears to be very persistent in keeping chromecast as the selected display. I usually start playback for plex from the workstation, but quite often emby takes over the chromecast from plex because the android client hasn't been killed (or manually switched to local playback). The way this generally works with android client (like youtube etc) is that the client detects that the chromecast has been taken over by another client and it gracefully gives up on access to chromecast. Emby on the other hand interrupts other clients and that way makes it harder to use other chromecast clients. The Android Mobile client is 2.3.80 at the time of writing, but it's not version specific.
mangis 10
I've found this too. Even between 2 different Emby for Android clients. If I start playing something to the Chromecast and then get up to do something else ... or fall asleep and then the wife comes along to play something different she can't do it from her phone and has to hunt around for mine to change what is playing. Dysan 2
To add to the above issues (which i also have) i'll add the problem when pausing the playback through the android device (4.4x & 5.1.1) getting something to drink and waking the mobile after 5 minutes the menu below (pause play) are gone. Only solution is to close emby, restart the chromecast. (because thats still paused) and pray that the resume function works when restarting the movie. Also it seems to transcode again very badly or is it just this file: Video ID : 1 Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : Main@L3.1 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 4 frames Format settings, GOP : M=1, N=3 Muxing mode : Header stripping Codec ID : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC Duration : 2h 22mn Bit rate : 6 000 Kbps Width : 1 280 pixels Height : 720 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 23.976 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.272 Stream size : 5.72 GiB (78%) Writing library : x264 core 120 Encoding settings : cabac=1 / ref=1 / deblock=1:0:0 / analyse=0x1:0x111 / me=hex / subme=2 / psy=1 / psy_rd=1.00:0.00 / mixed_ref=0 / me_range=16 / chroma_me=1 / trellis=0 / 8x8dct=0 / cqm=0 / deadzone=21,11 / fast_pskip=1 / chroma_qp_offset=0 / threads=12 / sliced_threads=0 / nr=0 / decimate=1 / interlaced=0 / bluray_compat=0 / constrained_intra=0 / bframes=3 / b_pyramid=2 / b_adapt=1 / b_bias=0 / direct=1 / weightb=1 / open_gop=0 / weightp=1 / keyint=240 / keyint_min=24 / scenecut=40 / intra_refresh=0 / rc_lookahead=10 / rc=abr / mbtree=1 / bitrate=6000 / ratetol=1.0 / qcomp=0.60 / qpmin=3 / qpmax=69 / qpstep=4 / ip_ratio=1.40 / aq=1:1.00 Language : English Default : Yes Forced : No Color range : Limited Color primaries : BT.709 Transfer characteristics : BT.709 Matrix coefficients : BT.709 Audio ID : 2 Format : DTS Format/Info : Digital Theater Systems Mode : 16 Format settings, Endianness : Big Muxing mode : Header stripping Codec ID : A_DTS Duration : 2h 22mn Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 1 509 Kbps Channel(s) : 6 channels Channel positions : Front: L C R, Side: L R, LFE Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Bit depth : 24 bits Compression mode : Lossy Stream size : 1.51 GiB (20%) Language : English Default : Yes Forced : Yes Edited August 15, 2015 by Dysan
