Cannot connect to server over WAN

Hi,

 

I forwarded both 8920 and 8096 on my router.

 

Now, direct connection from Internet to https://WAN_IP:8920 works fine but using app.emby.media does not. My WAN IP is dynamic and it seems to me that the latest IP doesn't get propagated to the web app.

 

In Emby Server settings, External WAN Address is empty (it says to leave it empty for automatic detection). I might end up trying to fill External WAN Address to DNS name to see if that works. Would be cool if it worked as you say, automatically :)

In most cases it does but with all the different kinds of firewalls out there and all the different configurations people can have, it's hard to guarantee.

Does http on port 8096 work with your wan address?  Since all you mention is https working on 8920.
