emby app issue with subtitles - movie starts after 30sec

HI,

I am not sure where to post this issue.

It could be a linux Ubuntu server or a emby app issue.

 

I had the problem, that a movie with 10GB size takes ~30-40 secs until the movie starts on the emby app for android and also on browser.

But I tried also the "media browser" app for android over the amazon app shop. In that app the movie starts after 3-4 secs.

Same wifi and bandwidth settings.

 

I looked in the transcode logs and found that the main difference is, that the "media browser" app are no subtiles option set in the ffmpeg line.

So, I tried the the emby app again, but without subtitles. and voila movies starts after 3-4 secs.

 

On emby for kodi I have no problems.

 

Are there issues with subtitles and emby?

No specific issues, but burning subtitles in adds considerable cpu pressure. still, 30-40 seconds isn't normal.
