system requirements

I was curious, are the system requirements that are on the wiki, are those for if you plan to transcode or is that in general?  I ask because i moved my system to unraid where I run a sempron 140 which is not meeting specs as it is single core.  I am not transcoding, I use direct play, but the issue I am running into is that emby locks up when trying to look at metadata.  The system freezes and I need to restart embyserver.  Unraid itself still functions, so I am trying to figure this out.  Otherwise, my thought is the drive with the metadata, maybe it is going bad and emby is locking up while it is waiting on disk.  

 

So, my thought is either the disk is bad, emby needs more resources or copying my instance of emby and pointing to the data was a bad idea and things are just screwed up...I am just looking for ideas and I understand there may not be an actual answer.
