This was while attempting to install the current stable release, 3.0.5641.4.

I downloaded the latest beta, 3.0.5641.3, and it installed fine.

This was the same for both the server and Emby for Windows Media Center.

In an attempt to reset Emby from scratch, I went to uninstall.  I received an error that the uninstaller failed from Add/Remove programs.

I deleted all emby file folders, deleted the service, then searched the registry and deleted keys related to emby.

Now, I'm unable to install the release version of Emby, see post ...

http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/22453-unable-to-install-emby-cannot-start-application/

I am able to install the beta, but when the server initially launches, I'm getting a hang and spinning icon at the initial page for preferred language.

Please help ... I'm dead in the water.  :-(

Completed the rundll32 dfshim CleanOnlineAppCache fix ... the servers seem to install, but still hang with spinning icon at first config screen

OK ... was able to get around the configuration set-up hang that launches when the server starts the first time.  I went to the dashboard url directly, and the start of the configuration worked.  Not sure why the hang with the initial launch page after server installation.

Chuck

Found it ...

Run the Command window as Administrator, then use the following command

rundll32 dfshim CleanOnlineAppCache

Then the server will install
