bmoses 9
Just got in a nexus player today and have been getting it setup. So far i'm liking it better than the fire TV stick i have as the UI is smoother and faster. i tested playing live TV on it since i'm having issues with live TV on the fire stick (posted here)and it plays OK but after a random amount of time it just quits playing and goes back to the guide. i've attached some transcode logs from several attempts where it stopped playing. the 3 larger files are the ones where it stopped for sure, the 3 smaller ones were in between attempts so i'm not sure what they are from but i added them just in case. no other transcoding was going on at the time. if you need anything else let me know. transcode-f4ff5265-c606-470b-9e3e-7a9f7f0cfbe2.txt transcode-e6c07b44-6ff9-4678-afe3-84106fff1db2.txt transcode-1e99556e-b57e-45c8-b7cc-7ba43a9e8427.txt transcode-4af0c9da-9883-4bd1-9b58-74db6ee133cf.txt transcode-d8e4df19-eabe-463b-b3f1-e4e09e131fb9.txt transcode-99a793ad-05a3-4720-a1f6-3d528766af89.txt Edited June 16, 2015 by bmoses
CBers 6792
@@bmoses - the developer (ebr) is on holiday for 2 weeks and only has limited access to the forums, so you may have a longer than usual response time. I'm sure if he can access the logs you've posted he will respond accordingly. Thanks. . Edited June 16, 2015 by CBers
ebr 14959
This isn't going to be a problem with the app. It will be the stream stopping from either the Live TV provider or the server so it should be attacked from that angle.

bmoses 9
i thought maybe i had something but i didn't even though i didn't need to reduce the max bitrate i tested dropping it to 10 from 30. it played the longest it has yet, lasted for between 45 minutes and an hour. but then it stopped i tried dropping it down to 5 to see if it would last longer but it stopped after less than 5 minutes. so i don't think that setting has anything to do with it either. Luke 37249
doesn't serverWmc have an option to stream over http rather than the ts file? can you try turning that on? the .ts file method has the highest degree of difficulty of any. it's just a really hard one for us because so many things touch the stream before it gets to your client video player. it's starting to get to the point where we almost can't afford to keep spending time debugging it. This is through no fault of ServerWmc so I am not passing any blame, but this particular method of getting the live stream to the player requires jumping through so many hoops. I tried checking both the HTTP option as well as the emby specific (experimental) one and with either option checked i was still getting *.ts files created in my temp transcoding folder. I assume that means its not supported/working with either my hardware or how i have something setup?

bmoses 9
would upgrading to a newer hdhomerun help anything? i am using the original hdhomerun tuner (http://www.amazon.com/SiliconDust-HDHomeRun-HDHR-US-Networked-Definition/dp/B0010Y414Q/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1434498629&sr=8-5&keywords=hdhomerun) would upgrading to this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GY0UB6I/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1J7WSBJHTGUFA that supports h.264 help me at all? i love everything about emby and everything else works perfect. i don't even need/use live TV except for watching the news occasionally, but my wife wants live TV option and its a pain in my rear..... Luke 37249
well the http stream from server wmc should work. but yes, getting a dlna hdhomerun is best because we can go straight to the tuner without server wmc. you can then use EmbyTV instead of ServerWmc and you won't have to have any other software installed.

(its the only one that supports h.264) or would any of the 3 newer HDHomeRun tuners work? (all 3 support DLNA/UPnP streaming) in the meantime i'll keep testing the http stream and see if it has any issues, maybe that will take care of it *crosses fingers* EDIT: Just read the first page of the EmbyTV DEV thread and it looks like all 3 would work but the h.264 one would be the better option. i'll keep an eye on the stream setting and if it still doesn't work over the next few days looks like i'll be ordering a new hdhomerun Edited June 17, 2015 by bmoses
bmoses 9
so far it *appears* that turning on the http stream option in serverwmc has solved the issue. I tested it tonight and let live tv play for almost 2 hours before stopping it and it played the entire time without issue. thanks for the help!
