pir8radio 1292
Big chunky unreadable blocks below every item. New slide down menu un-readable no background images

pir8radio 1292
No question someone changed my post tile. MOBILE WEB CLIENT BROKEN IN 3.0.5621.1 Beta the big grey blocks below every media item, shouldn't be there (i would think) they serve no purpose, no title fits in them, they consume way too much room it no longer looks clean with tightly packed movie posters next to each other. The second image, the slide down is just nasty, doesn't scale to smaller mobile screens. Previous versions looked pretty much the same between mobile and desktop... Basically i'm pointing out bugs in the beta hoping to get them fixed. So if i had a question it would be, is this right? Because it sure doesn't look right. speechles 1920
This happens on desktop and mobile btw. It is equally an issue, change title perhaps for more views? But... Yo, I agree, it is certainly a backwards step in the "clean looking" department. Why is that grey spot with title and 3 spot icon there? It duplicates the functions available by hover/click/long touch. It distracts from a clean design since it's so glaring seeing it there like it's a browser rendering mistake. Now onto that "fly out" pop up crap, this was played out 15 years ago. Nobody wants that anymore. Pop up blocker please. That must certainly need an option to disable somewhere. It makes it look really "trying too hard" in the intuitive department. Like dumbing it down, and uglying it up at the same time, for the sake of...what? That is my question. I agree it's unappealing and dated in the approach. Combined, oddball grey boxes below poster/covers and fly out = too busy. Much too busy. Please fix this. Thanks. http://www.uie.com/articles/design_intuitive/ This article is quite well written. This is the philosophy you should adopt. ebr 14939
I'm pretty sure both of these are configurable in user preferences. The gray area is the "card view" and the new popup is the option "Enable item previews" under App settings.
pir8radio 1292
No where in my emby prefs? unless i'm missing something? Sorry yes Enable Item Previews is there, but not card view... the annoying one... :-) Edited May 28, 2015 by pir8radio
techywarrior 688
I'm pretty sure both of these are configurable in user preferences. The gray area is the "card view" and the new popup is the option "Enable item previews" under App settings. Although it was promised in the stable release I think it was missed. It's in the dev builds though.
speechles 1920
It isn't just mobile. This is my desktop. So see the issue? @@ebr, see above. Also, there is no option as you describe. There is this. Within App settings. But I have it unchecked now, and it's still got them boxes below my cover arts. Quagmire. Dilemma. Sad panda. EDIT: @@ebr, after read techywarrior post I get it. But, the options for those 2 ( we will call them "features" but do so, with a sideways face ) should not be enabled by default: "card view", or "item previews" Edited May 28, 2015 by speechles
pir8radio 1292
@@speechles The "Enable Item Previews" was enabled but ONLY for my 1 admin user (me). techywarrior 688
could use the CSS customization to hide the gray boxes if you want. .visualCardBox .outerCardFooter { display:none; }

The big grey boxes are poster card view, in the movies tab which just lists all your movies there should be a left arrow button a right arrow button a tick/select button and the last button with three vertical dots, if you click the last button with the dots you should get a slide out menu on the right with a drop down "View" button where you can change the view to poster rather than poster card to get rid of the grey boxes. moviefan 184
+1 to this topic. I also think it looks less clean with "card view" and hope for an option to disable this.
