cw-kid 192
Hi Just imported my large music collection in to Emby last night, now checking the metadata manager I notice that for some artists they don't have an Identify button and the External IDs section is not present. Joey Beltram here on Musicbrainz DB Any ideas why? Thanks
cw-kid 192
I think this might be down to an incorrect folder structure for some of my artists. \\whs\Music\Various Artists\Acid House 1988-89\Joey Beltram In here are his albums and there is an nfo file present created by Kodi. However I now also have a new folder at this location, which I haven't created \\whs\Music\Joey Beltram In here is just an extrafanart folder and a fanart.jpg no nfo file present and no music files present. Think I need to move the albums in to this new folder.
Solution cw-kid 192 Posted May 16, 2015 Author Solution Share Posted May 16, 2015 To fix this I had to remove this folder \\whs\Music\Various Artists\Acid House 1988-89\Joey Beltram And move all its contents to this new folder \\whs\Music\Joey Beltram However I still had no identify button for this artist, so I temporarily remove the Joey Beltram folder altogether, Emby scanned and then removed that artist from the library, I then copied his folder back to the main music folder and now in Emby Joey Beltram has an identify button. So my mistake not the software! I will need to move a few other artists who have the same problem, due to their current location in incorrect folders. Kodi wasn't as picky that all the artists were stored in the main "Music" root folder.
cw-kid 192
Another issue? How are duets meant to be identified or are they not? Michael Jackson & Diana Ross Kenny & Dolly etc In the metadata manager they have a red icon next to them. I guess if they are not on Musicbrainz or TheAudioDB as a duet then there is no way to have the "artist" identified in the software.
