steve1977 67
I am trying to better understand how Emby works under the hood as I keep having consistency issues with some of my movies / music. Specifically, it appears that Emby stores posters / fanart both in the musicartist folder as well as in the C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\data\metadata folder. Also, the C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\cache folder appears to play some role. Would be great to better understand the role of the cache and metadata folders with the actual movie/music folders (where the .nfo, poster and fanart files reside). Thanks in advance!!! Luke 37290
images under the cache folder are generally just images resized for clients at the size they want. if you have local metadata saving enabled, the metadata folder will generally only be used for live tv, channel items, people, genres, etc. music artists also go under there unless you have an artist folder in your music library for each particular artist. chapter images also go under metadata
steve1977 67
Thanks, this makes sense and I understand. So, these folders would not be where Emby keeps its "memory" about what music artist posters has already been parsed? Can you take a look at my issue at http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/20952-recreating-albumnfo-artist-posters-and-album-posters/. Thanks!
