play/shuffle folder not working?

When I go into a folder/category and hit the play or shuffle buttons, they do nothing for me. My app is up to date. Known bug with a fix coming? As a workaround, I thought maybe I could cast from the web client on my computer to my phone but apparently you can't cast to android devices?

 

As an aside, will videos ever be able to play in portrait orientation? I've got a dock for my phone on my desk and it would be nice if it could play stuff while I'm working without turning it sideways, even if it means the content is smaller.
