Mark Anderson 2
Hi Guys Just added a new media collection for recorded TV from WMC. What do I need to do to get meta data (backdrops, thumbs, etc.)? I have the option selected to download. I have CoverArt and GenreCleaner plugins Regards Mark

crashkelly 62
Just taking a shot here, but if nothing is being picked up for your series check to make sure the folder name matches that on tmdb. If all else fails you can but the tmbd id in [] after the series name Your Show [tmbdid] Items contained within [] do not show in the interface. Cheers Edited November 16, 2013 by crashkelly
Luke 37259
I wouldn't bother Just taking a shot here, but if nothing is being picked up for your series check to make sure the folder name matches that on tmdb. If all else fails you can but the tmbd id in [] after the series name Your Show [tmbdid] Items contained within [] do not show in the interface. Cheers I wouldn't bother with that anymore. just change the id on the edit page and refresh from there.

pir8radio 1293
he wants media browser to lookup the meta data for stock WMC recorded TV shows. Without renaming the recording, or putting it in sub folders etc. I would like to do the same... I recall having to use some third party software to do this, but i'm hoping with the new MB it is capable of looking up WMC tv recordings now? Yogi 367
I don't think this can be done as MB pulls the metadata from TVDB so your recorded shows will need to have at least the same naming as on TVDB or have the same ID. Blairlio 0
Is there anyway to keep the tv episodes numbered the way we want and still have them paired to the tvdb sites? I have my entire t.v collection (1.5TB) worth numbered as #01 - episode name . By havin it this way it duplicates the episodes and labels them missing? I clicked under user profile in sever settings to hide missing episode and upcoming now nothing shows up at all! My collection still shows up in MBC but not in web browser? Luke 37259
your episodes are using a numbering convention that we currently don't support. we support quite a few conventions. check the wiki and find one that will work for you.
Blairlio 0
Sorry if i sound like a noob, but i am not much of a forum person but i really like you program and what it does!! I have a vast collection and don't want to rename everything! my fix to that if i can't get it to work my way is just hide missing videos with the option availble in user profile settings and just have my files showing! But now they don't want to show up?
Blairlio 0
Sorry just notice reply! Thanks for being quick! Ok i will take a look! thanks again!
Luke 37259
It's looking for episodes, not plain videos. If you don't follow the convention, they'll be seen as plain videos, sorry. You'll also be missing out on lots of other features. There's several programs available that can rename them for you automatically, like tv rename. it's easy. Blairlio 0
With your available numbering conventions it would require me to rename a vast collection! would it not be in the best interest and convenience to your selves and others to add more numbering convention? save allot of people some heartache! Luke 37259
We support quite a few. The reality is, we can't support them all. Go ahead and file a feature request for it. We'll have to see what the demand is from the general audience. What program did you use before? Just trying to figure out who else might use that convention. Blairlio 0
I just played files from location or used windows media center on PC and Xbox! Media center allowed my files to be viewed the way i had them sorted in windows!
Luke 37259
what i can do is fix the web client so that you can use the generic collection folder-based browsing. but if you want the tv related features you're going to have to use the convention. Blairlio 0
Ok! I'll try that out! Its just that i like a shorter sort name! makes it easier to read and fits in text windows better . adding the 0 in front of my single digit episode numbers keeps them in better order instead of 10 coming before 1! and # gets the point across that its a episode number and just looks nice! Thank u for your time and help!
yardameus 220
http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/674-media-files-folders-structure/?p=21472 Click on the TV Series portion. Lot's of options for naming. If you make the options too vast, eventually there will be some conflict. I'd also suggest TV Renamer. Had to do a few hundred episodes of Bleach when I first came to Media Browser (just had the absolute episode number). Worked out great.
