Web Socket

this is now available, although unfortunately at the moment your server must be running windows 8 or windows server 2012 in order to utilize it. I'll look at improving that later.

 

The web socket url is:

 

ws://localhost:8096/mediabrowser (substituting localhost and port of course)

 

Once you're connected the server will then send you notifications about lots of different things, such as new items added to the library (and many others).

 

The dashboard is now using it to show notifications of new items. Enjoy.
