MB Classic stuttering looping issue on skipping ahead + shark codecs? (windows 8.1 u1 x64)

I'm having an issue with Windows 8.1 x64 and using the MB Classic interface with wmc..

 

If you click the skip ahead button, it skips ahead fine, but often after a few presses the screen will go to a stuttering fit.. you'll hear the audio and it will keep repeating the same 2-3 second clip at that point in a loop.. the only recourse is to close and reopen wmc/mbc and try again.

 

I'm not sure if its related to codecs or not..

 

I had to install the shark codecs to get things working in general.. i had issues with video stuttering being laggy in both MBT and MBC at one point (and i still do occasionally where the audio continues on but the video gets slightly sluggish for just about 2 seconds and then smooths out)..

 

Anyone had this issue and knows of a fix?
