econ 74
As the title states, I am unable to play mkv files through the web using chrome since the latest update to Version 3.0.5572.0. I am able to play them through the roku app. Other file formats seem to play fine through the web. Anyone else seeing this issue? I have attached my server logs to help troubleshoot the issue. server-63564128937.txt
gjviii 48
i'm seeing the same issue as well. I'm on server version 3.0.5572.0 (updates set to Beta). I haven't tried roku, but I can not play mkv via the web browser. I have tried using chrome, safari and ie11. Server logs attached when I tried using Chrome. Mkv files play fine using WMC Thanks server-63564134400.txt Edited April 9, 2015 by gvollero

gjviii 48
do the logs submitted show anything? any recommendations on next steps to troubleshoot? I've tried on various computers, ipads, android devices and iphones and they don't play. Wonder if I should upgrade to developer version and see if it resolves. Am I able to download an older server release to test? could I need different codecs installed on the server? Luke 37114
it appears we might be trying to direct stream in a situation where we should transcode, but why is difficult to say.
econ 74
This is the screen shown after attempting to play any mkv. If you attempt to move the time bar slider you receive the error message "There was an error playing the video" and it returns to the movie detail screen. Luke 37114
See if there's any errors in the chrome debugger
econ 74
Doesn't look like any errors are showing. This is what displays when you click play of an mkv via the web. jquery.mobile-1.4.5.js:15451 Requesting url without automatic networking: https://192.168.1.2:8920/Users/afb49e73489a796ac5dba2343b1362b5/Items/e26e80c6d06a5e409ec6a8dd57219acb jquery.mobile-1.4.5.js:15451 Requesting url without automatic networking: https://192.168.1.2:8920/Items/e26e80c6d06a5e409ec6a8dd57219acb/PlaybackInfo?UserId=afb49e73489a796ac5dba2343b1362b5&StartTimeTicks=54060000000

econ 74
Where would I find that within the debugger? Sorry, not very familiar with it. Are you are just referring to what shows up below the jquery lines in the chrome console? If that is the case, that's all that is displayed when playing an mkv. Whereas when playing any other video format (not mkv) I would receive something like below. econ 74
I'm still having the issue with v3.0.5588.1 The issue only occurs in chrome v42. Issue does not occur in IE 11.
econ 74
I just noticed that ffmpeg never fires up when playing the mkv through chrome. Ffmpeg does open when using IE11 and plays fine.
