Adapting DLNA playback to low-performance devices

I am accessing MBS from VLC for IOS, which I am using as DLNA client to access the MBS server.

In general, it somehow plays it and also some transcoding is happening (as I can hear DTS sound, which is natively not supported by VLC). However, the movie remains unwatchable as way too choppy. I believe this is caused by my old iphone, which is a iphone 4s. I guess the performance is not enough to play full-hd rips.

Question is whether I can somehow shift the decoding power to MBS where I have a beefier server and this would allow my VLC IOS app to play things smoothly?

I assume this would require a specific profile for VLC on iphone4s and then I would need a different profile for VLC on other higher-performing devices. Would this even be possible and what transcoding setting would I need to adapt to allow a smooth stream?

Attached the transcode log. Thanks in advance!!!
